Samantha Davis, the wife of actor Warwick Davis, has died at the age of 53. The Star Wars actor paid tribute to his "favourite human" in a statement.

Samantha was best known for her roles in the films Honky Sausages, Through the Dragon's Eye and ShortFellas. She was also the founder of the dwarfism charity Little People UK.

Her father, Peter, was also an actor and appeared in several films alongside his daughter.

Warwick Davis and Samantha had been married for 28 years and had two children together. In a statement released after her death, Warwick said: "I am so devastated to have lost my best friend and soulmate. Samantha was the most wonderful wife, mother and friend and I will miss her terribly."

Samantha's death comes just two months after the couple celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. Warwick shared a photo of the pair on their special day, writing: "28 years ago today I married my soulmate. Happy anniversary to my favourite human."
