US Airline Flights Grounded Due to Nationwide Outage

Major Airlines Affected by Microsoft Network Issues

Flights from several major US airlines, including Delta, United, and American Airlines, were grounded for several hours on Friday morning due to an ongoing outage in Microsoft networks. The outage, which began on Thursday evening, has also affected other industries, including banking and healthcare.

Thousands of Flights Delayed and Canceled

According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, approximately 10,103 flights within, into, or out of the United States have been delayed, and 1,343 have been canceled as of 9:20 p.m. EST. The outage has disrupted travel plans for thousands of passengers, who are being asked to check with their airlines for the latest information.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground stop order for all departing flights from several major airports, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York City. The FAA is advising passengers to check with their airlines before going to the airport.

Other Industries Affected

In addition to the airline industry, the Microsoft outage has also affected other sectors, including banking, healthcare, and education. Several major banks, including Bank of America and Wells Fargo, have reported issues with their online and mobile banking services. Hospitals and other healthcare providers have also been affected, with some reporting delays in patient care.

Microsoft is currently working to resolve the outage, but it is unclear when the issue will be fully resolved. In the meantime, travelers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on their flights.
