Match Review: Ufa v Chayka

Ufa's Unbeaten Run Ends in Defeat to Chayka

Ufa's unbeaten start to the season came to an end as they were defeated 2-1 by Chayka in the Russian First Division on Saturday.

Chayka took the lead in the 35th minute through a penalty from Maksim Grigoryev. Ufa equalised just before half-time through a header from Danila Yanov.

It was Chayka who had the last laugh, however, as they scored the winning goal in the 85th minute through a header from Georgy Gongadze.

Ufa Miss Chance to Go Top

The defeat means that Ufa missed the chance to go top of the table. They remain in second place, one point behind leaders Yenisey Krasnoyarsk.

Chayka, meanwhile, moved up to fifth place with the win. They are now just two points adrift of the top three.

Reaction from the Managers

Ufa manager Aleksey Stukalov was disappointed with his team's performance.

"We didn't play well today," he said. "We made too many mistakes and Chayka punished us for them."

Chayka manager Sergey Tashuyev was delighted with his team's victory.

"It was a great performance from my players," he said. "We worked hard and deserved to win."

Conclusion

Ufa's defeat to Chayka was a disappointing result, but they will be looking to bounce back in their next game. Chayka, meanwhile, will be full of confidence after their victory.
